Ten of the twelve gift totes distributed around town by the Lynden Breakfast Kiwanis were gathered up today (Monday, Dec. 8th) from businesses, the museum, and the senior center, then delivered to Margaret at the Lynden School District office on Main Street. They were very happy to receive an influx of mostly new toys and some coats/clothes. In August the school district allows parents to sign up their children to wish for a particular Christmas gift, but other local groups organize that kind of matched giving. The gifts we bring in are to fill in the gaps, and for children who were too late to get their name on the wish list way back in August. They also retain some items for after Christmas and try to fit them to the needs of particular children. Thanks to all who participated in this very worthwhile effort. Kiwanis is for Kids!
